Our Farming Partners
What makes us so special are our farmers. Our products are ethically and responsibly sourced from a smallholder farm located in the rural village of Werellegama, Sri Lanka.
We’re actively working with our farmers from marginalised communities to improve their agronomic skills and develop their livelihoods.
At Ceilán, we believe that everyone deserves a fair chance, regardless of their race, gender, sexuality or disabilities, to succeed. The relationships we have formed with our partners, ensures that everyone in our team is given the fair opportunity to:
- Work in a clean and safe environment.
- Be treated with respect, dignity in a positive working environment.
- Have access to training for wider career opportunities.
While our key ingredient, Centella asiatica is grown and harvested in Sri Lanka, we still very much a British brand that supports local farmers. In fact, the final diffusion and bottling process is carefully handled by our partners in Pates Farm in Norfolk.
It’s easy to forget that for much of history, our ancestors got their beauty fixes from botanicals derived directly from the earth. These traditional treatments were once authentically produced and consumers knew exactly where their products came from.
We are looking to implement a blockchain feature that ensures that what we say is in the bottle, is actually in the bottle.
Sustainable Agriculture
The Centella asiatica seeds grown in our farms are wildcrafted from the local forests, in a way that harms neither the environment or wildlife. The seeds are naturally grown in our farms, free of pesticides, herbicides and any artificial fertilisers.
To ensure our farms are resilient to climate change we will plant native trees annually and optimise water usage.
